The overall structure of the work plan is presented with work packages and tasks and their relationships. The overall structure is given in Figure 1. Overview of work packages. Figure 1 – Overview of work packages.

The whole effort consists of seven work packages. The duration of the project will be 36 months. The work packages are following:

WP 1: Architecture and platform
  • Objectives:
    • To design the SWAMP system architecture
    • To integrate the extended IoT baseline (WP2) and the water management services (WP3) into the SWAMP smart water management platform
    • To ensure plug-and-play deployment and low-effort maintenance

WP 2: Data collection and storage extensions
  • Objectives
    • Using drones as data collection tools and sensor platforms
    • Using drones as a mean to forward the data from IoT nodes to cloud services
    • Developing new IoT nodes both for monitoring and control for water distribution and irrigation systems
    • Adapt and extend  IoT platforms for water management purposes

WP 3: Estimation and Optimisation Services

WP 4: End user applications
WP 5: Pilots
WP 6: Impact creation measures
  • Objectives
    • To support the impact objectives of the SWAMP project
    • Dissemination of results to relevant pilot domains stakeholders and to IoT R&D community
    • Communication of ideas and achievements regulation and policy making, and users
    • Supporting the exploitation, by highlighting the business possibilities and opportunities

WP 7: Management
  • Objectives
    • To guarantee the effective implementation of the project, consisting of administrative, financial, technical, quality, risk, innovation, knowledge, and IPR management and communication between EU and Brazil funding authorities
